Amy Virus (Verus) has worked for the School District of Philadelphia's Division of Food Services as Administrative and Support Services Manager for the past 11 years. She is the chief compliance officer for the Administration of the National School Lunch, Breakfast, After School, and Summer Feeding programs. In addition, she oversees food purchasing, including the management of USDA Foods. She also processes the claim for reimbursement and maintains CNPEARS information for the District's 254 locations. Annually the District serves over 17,000,000 million meals a year.
Amy received her Master's in Health Informatics from Temple University and Her Undergraduate degree in Public Health Nutrition from West Chester University. She is a Registered Dietitian and has worked in Childhood Obesity research, and clinical and outpatient hospital settings focused on community wellness before joining the School District of Philadelphia.
Amy is currently serving as Treasurer for the Urban School Food Alliance, an organization created by school food service professionals to address the unique needs of the nation's largest school districts. She has previously served on the local, state, and national boards of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
