Melissa Froehlich is the Coordinator of School Nutrition Services at North Penn School District in Lansdale, PA. Melissa is responsible for the overall operation of the School Nutrition Department, with approximately 13,000 students in grades K-12, 18 school buildings and 150 school nutrition staff. North Penn School Nutrition Services participates in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, At-Risk Afterschool Snack Program, Child and Adult Food Care Program and Summer Food Service Program.
Melissa has been working in school nutrition since 2010. She has been active in SNAPA and on the SNAPA Board of Directors throughout her time in the school nutrition field. She has served as State President of the School Nutrition Association of Pennsylvania and as Region 3 Representative. She is also a member of the PASBO Food Service Committee.
She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from Post University. She is also credentialed as a School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) from The School Nutrition Association.
She has been a speaker for various professional organizations such as The School Nutrition Association of Pennsylvania, The Pennsylvania Association of Business Officials (PASBO) and The Association of Business Officials (ASBO). The topics she has presented include “Marketing 101”, “Budgeting and Financial Management”, “Breakfast Beyond the Cafeteria”, “Reviewing Food Service Basics”, and “PrimeroEdge Menu Planning”. She is also an instructor for the annual PASBO Elements Food Service Online Course.
In Melissa’s role as SNAPA Public Communication Chair, her responsibilities include overseeing all SNAPA social media accounts.
